Monday 5 March – Boston

Watched the Cats v Port game. Although we were solid, didn’t think we were outstanding. Cam Mooney was hardly sighted for most of the night but still kicked 3 goals. Being positive, I think this is actually a good thing – I think Cam’s games now might still result in a meaningful contribution to the game, and overall we might get more out of him more often. In summary, I thought we were lucky to win the game due to a little Lady Luck at crucial parts of the game (e.g. Cornes hitting the post in the final minute), and Port’s inability to capitalise on a real dominance in the stoppages from ¾ time onwards, but the boys’ ability to hang in there was good. One thing’s for sure... if you saw Jimmy Bartel’s name in the Form Guide, it would certainly have a “w” (for having won in the wet) next to it.
