The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Unknown soldiers from WWI, WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War have been buried here (although the Vietnam War casualty has since been taken out, identified via DNA and buried in his hometown, and thus this tomb is to remain empty). It has been perpetually guarded by the U.S. Army since April 6, 1948.

Something that was a little scary was the amount of space that remained unused in this cemetary, hopefully never to be filled, and hopefully not retained with the thought that it may be needed.

This building is the magnificent Arlington Memorial Ampitheatre, home to numerous official ceremonies, and surely a sneak peak of Europe. What's the protocol - should one smile at a Cemetery? I'm sure there'd have to be a Seinfeld episode on it.
